Television special featuring Fort Riley to air 

 FORT RILEY, Kan., (Dec. 7, 2005) -  The television show Best of America by Horseback will begin airing the show's Christmas special featuring Fort Riley beginning Dec. 23.

The producers of the program travel throughout the US videotaping the best places to ride horses in America.

The show recently honored Fort Riley Soldiers and families by taping a "Christmas Music Special for the Troops" Nov. 29 at Fort Riley's Soldier and Family Support Center. The free performance included artists: Dead Men's Hollow and the Mars Hill Porch Pickers.

The show will air at 2p.m., Dec. 23 and at 5 p.m., Dec. 25 on DirecTV channel 379 and Dish Network channel 9409. The Christmas special will also air on Fort Riley cable channel 2 Dec. 24, 25 and 26 immediately following In Step with Fort Riley.

The show will highlight the Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard in an upcoming feature.
